Blogger IS getting shitty.
Anyway my 60th post is dedicated to whose O levels or Final Year Exams are arriving very soon!
If you are scared of the O levels, you shouldn't be procrastinating any further and jolly well start studying! If you know you are not talented in certain subjects, just compensate it with sheer hard work if it's important. It's good to have either one, best if you have both. Decide what's your interest, what's best for you in the near future. Well it may not necessarily be the popular course. Be decisive or you are not going anywhere.
JC or poly you may ask. I've already cleared the O level hurdle and my L1R5 aggregate was 16. Poly aggregate (L1R2B2 i think) was 12. In TWSS, my aggregate can get you into the top 10 O level students already. I ain't kidding you. Less than 20 TWSS students went on to A level studies, only 15 from my class, including me, went on to A levels. That's 1 thing that will make most of you decide to go on to poly.
A diploma holder yields a higher salary than an A level holder, which is very true. I tell you, in JC, even if you don't do well in your 1st year, as long as you work harder in your 2nd year, you'll eventually do well in your A levels, which was exactly what I did. My desired grades were achieved and my dream place in NTU too. =) In poly, however, just about everything in there counts towards your final GPA (grade point average). The learning there is more independent. Screw up in 1 area, your GPA is also screwed. This statement is enough to make you study hard in poly, unless you don't care 1 bit.
However, my point here is, does it mean if you are going to JC, you must do well in your O levels, but not if you are going to poly or ITE instead? No. You still must do well in your O levels. The better you do, the more choices you will have. Don't slacken, wherever you go after TWSS, or you'll fall behind all the same. It can happen anywhere and it will happen if YOU make it happen.
Be it your Preliminary exams, or your Final year exams, do your best and most importantly, if you THINK you can do it, you will be able to do it. Trust me on this one.
Nevertheless, GOOD LUCK to all students and gambatte! To those students I taught before, I know my teaching is sub-standard but well, you have to earn your good grades still. Don't disappoint anyone you know, especially YOURSELF.
